Rural Health Services Consortium, Inc. operates twelve primary healthcare medical centers and one behavioral health center in Northeast Tennessee. These medical centers are presently located in Baileyton, Bluff City, Bulls Gap, Dry Creek, Rogersville, Kingsport, Limestone, Mountain City, Roan Mountain, Jonesborough, and Sneedville.
The natural beauty of the area with mountains, lakes, and national forests provides an abundance of recreational activities. The mountains temper the climate to produce four distinctive yet mild seasons, each with its own special beauty. As part of Appalachia, the people of Northeast Tennessee enjoy a proud and distinct culture. The past isolation of most communities developed a way of life—friendly, unhurried, cooperative, and respectful—and it still exists today.
This rural tradition provides a beautiful background to the growing cities of Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City (also called the Tri-Cities Area) which offer such amenities as civic centers, theaters, symphony orchestras, ballet companies, museums, shopping malls, and numerous dining and entertainment establishments. The richness of the area’s culture with is relaxing pace combined with the modern conveniences of mid-sized cities and state-of-the-art medical centers located throughout the area makes Northeast Tennessee a great place to live. With the recent opening of Interstate 26 across the North Carolina/Tennessee Mountains, travel to the coast and neighboring states has never been easier or more convenient.
